The School of Nursing has received official notification from ANCC that the program has been accredited for an additional six years…the maximum accreditation possible.

Larry Combest Community Health and Wellness Center faculty and staff received the Outstanding Program Award at the Diversity and Multicultural Affairs Awards Banquet.

Pat Francis’s article concerning Diversity crucial in fulfilling future healthcare needs will be published in Our Texas this summer.

Barbara Johnston has been nominated as a delegate alternate to the White House Conference on Aging.

Phi Kappa Phi, founded in 1897, is an honor society for all academic disciplines within colleges and universities.  Membership is by invitation only.  The upper 7.5 percent of juniors with at least 72 semester hours, the upper 10 percent of seniors and outstanding graduate students, faculty, professional staff and alumni are eligible for invitation.  The following SON students have been awarded this membership:  Brandi Branum, Rachel Cook-Norris, Christy Dawn Tyler McCord, Brianne Katherine McMillan, Candice McNeely, Kory L. Mitchell, Erin Denise Spencer and Heidi Warren.

The Student Senate select faculty members as “Outstanding Faculty of the Year”. The three SON faculty chosen this year are Dr. Linda Brice, Sharon Decker, and Dr. Pat Yoder-Wise.  They will be honored at a banquet hosted by the Faculty Senate.

The following SON members received TTUHSC Service Awards.
