Linda Brice has received notification that she has two research abstracts accepted for presentation at the Southern Nursing Research Society (SNRS) Annual Conference, Memphis TN, February, 2006.

Linda Brice has completed presentations on research topics at the annual Texas Regional AWHONN Conference, Woodlands, TX.

Barbara Johnston received Nurse Educator Certification (CNE) from the National League for Nursing on their first certification examination. 

Barbara Johnston has been selected to receive the 2005 President’s Excellence in Teaching Award for the TTUHSC School of Nursing.

Ann Laurence did a podium presentations as follows: 

November, 2005:  West Texas Cares:  A Collaboration to Educate Rural Caregivers, presented at the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aged annual conference in San Antonio, TX. 

October, 2005:  Caregiving Concerns for Women, presented at “At Time for Women” seminar, Lubbock, TX.

September, 2005:  Step up to Healthy Aging, presented at the South Plains Advocate for Elders Conference, Lubbock, TX.

Toni Galvan reports that the TTUHSC SON senior students planned, coordinated, implemented and evaluated a Bioterrorism Drill on October 26, 2005.  N3601 faulty and some faculty from Covenant SON participated in various roles. The Drill was held in conjunction with the City of Lubbock Health Department.  All N3601 students, a number of TTUHSC-SON junior students and a number of Covenant SON students also participated.
